So. Odd enough as it seems, I was talking to my middle east politics teacher about grad school. Odd because, I'm probably about a year and a half away before i go through that process (double major= the suck). And he had an interesting sugestion....one I'm seriously considering now.
He sugested where he went was a good school and knowing me, it wouldn't be a problem getting into it. Same with a couple of other schools in the sourrounding area.
The kicker.... his school was the American Un. of Beruit. Lebbenon..... middle east.
Other sugestions... Ciro is the other one that comes to mind.
It got me thinking a lot lately. If there's anything going on in this world that has long lasting affects on everyone... its there. Historicly, it will be the hot bed for years to come, and politicly, there is no more amazing story than what that region goes through. And how not many people really understand it.
If my focus is the middle east... it's only natural that i go there and learn about it at some point. Not sure how the whole process works or if it comes about. But my couriosity is getting the best of me.
On film I've seen palistiniens blowing up busses of civilians.... and Isralie helecoptors firing rockets into refugee camps... and I need to know why this continues..
I need to see the world in my own eyes before i can teach about it. I need to understand this part of the world.
